Boiling Springs Christmas Parade

Dad so lovingly drove me in the Boiling Springs Christmas Parade and it was so much fun! I made some baggies with information about why I chose my platform and some tips and facts on how to handle having a family member with cancer. The children were absolutely adorable, shouting our Merry Christmas! Dad and I also got quite a kick out of the fact that everyone was shouting, "Hey, Autumn!" "Merry Christmas Autumn McAbee" and a lot of them didn't even know me, they just saw my name on the side of the car! haha I felt very privledged to be in the parade. I know it brought joy to our Christmas and I can only hope it made other's holidays a little happier! JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON! Merry Christmas Everyone!

Not only was I able to be in the parade, but I also got to be the guest speaker at a woman's Christmas party. We had a wonderful brunch and then I gave my testimony. The women were very encouraging and supportive of my current journey through the Miss SC pageant. We all gathered together and I sang "Oh Holy Night" and then we all sang various Christmas carols together. It really made me ready for Christmas!!!

Locks of Love

I cut my hair!!! Ah...but I do love it. I cut off twelve inches for Locks of Love and I recommend this to everyone who can. It's a great cause and I pray the Lord will use it to make a wig for a cancer patient to feel more beautiful while He so graciously comforts them in the process as well!

Christmas Break Fun

I am so excited to be able to do community service during Christmas break! I have already sang at the Southern Sportsman Christmas Night, which went very well. It was so crazy, because I was signing autographs. I just feel so special lol because really..who am I to sign an autograph? lol I have a few upcoming parades, churches to speak at, and nursing home Christmas caroling lined up. This is going to be a speical Christmas and I wish my mom was here to share it with us all!

Community Service

Community service has been wonderful so far and such a blessing! I've gotten to share my testimony at some churches, sing at some pageants and Christmas events, be in the North Greenville Homecoming parade, promote fire saftey with the Tigerville Fire Dept., work with children in various elementary schools and even much more!

All American Girl-Miss NGU Pageant

This year the Lord blessed me with the opportunity to become Miss North Greenville University 2009. The pageant was full of the most beautiful and sweet girls. I can honestly say that these girls are not "pageant" type, as often labeled. We helped each other back stage, laughed, and I really made some great new friends. We were encouraged in practice to pray that the Lord would bring a girl to win that would use the crown to bring glory to His name. I know I fall short at times, but I do feel a passion and a responsibility to my King to use my platform, community service, and crown to bring people to know Him! Throughout this year, reigning as Miss NGU, I will complete 100 or more hours of community service, raise $250 for the Children's Miracle Network, speak about my platform, Coping with Cancer in the Family, and eventually compete in the Miss South Carolina Pageant in July. Pray the Lord will use my title for His glory!
